Which places are smoke free?

To smoke or not to smoke? Everyone decides for themselves. However, you should be aware that there are places where smoking is prohibited under current legislation.

The spread of the habit means that young people start smoking as early as 11-12 years of age. What can this lead to? Even pregnant and breastfeeding mothers do not deny the addiction. Parents smoke in their apartments, on balconies, without even thinking that they are shortening not only their lives but also that of their children.

The main idea of the law is to use it to protect the health of the country's citizens and to protect against the negative consequences of inhaling cigarette smoke. According to statistical studies, it is precisely this addiction that has a very high mortality rate. But not only smokers suffer from smoking, but also those around them.

No smoking zones may be established at the discretion of the property or property owner.

If desired, the owner can equip himself with a special place intended for smoking. It can be outside or inside. In the second case, it is necessary to take care of the installation of a ventilation system. The law establishes special requirements for these places: in a room where smoking is prohibited, a special sign must be posted, showing a crossed-out cigarette in a circle.

Smoking bans in different countries

Stricter anti-smoking policies have been in place for a long time in most countries. In the first phase, each country takes measures to ban smoking in crowded places. In almost all countries, a significant fine is imposed on the violator for non-compliance with this law.

In America, if the violator smokes a cigarette in the wrong place, he has to pay an impressive fine. In the UK, this amount is even higher. This addiction is also actively combated in Greece, where a fine is imposed for smoking in the wrong place. In Japan, smoking is fought in a big way, there is even a certain list of streets where smoking is completely forbidden.

Law enforcement and smoking in a public place

The list of places where smoking is prohibited is almost the same in all countries. However, having arrived in a foreign country, it is still better to get acquainted with the laws separately. Smoking areas are usually marked with specific signs everywhere. Some countries are even taking action to restrict the sale of cigarettes. The most smoke-free country is the Vatican. Smoking has been completely banned there since 2002.

Most countries have focused their efforts not only on identifying no-smoking areas, but also on promoting healthy lifestyles. Defining no-go areas is humiliating for many smokers as they now have to hide and go to places where smoking is possible. A person begins to feel a bit left out and over time looks less and less for places to smoke. In a favorable environment, all this leads to the fact that a person quits smoking.

Since the law was passed, the statistical indicators have already improved significantly. Not only sales of tobacco products fell, but positive changes in the birth rate were observed, the number of pathologies in newborns decreased. Lung and throat cancer mortality statistics have changed for the better. This bad habit is a powerful weapon of mass destruction that claims more lives each year than any war that has taken place on the planet.

The state is currently not only trying to restrict smoking areas, make cigarettes a luxury item (gradually increase in price), but also actively fight the propaganda of cigarettes in the media. It's not that common that people smoke on TV screens and in movies.
